In its effort to extend its reach to those who have less in life, the Century Pacific Group RSPo Foundation (CPG-RSPO) forged ties with CITE to give one million meals to the underprivileged youth and children. CITE responded to this request through a program dubbed as “Heroes Among Us: A Community and Nutrition Project.”
The project aims to
feed the undernourished children in the community in partnership with
the beneficiary schools and parents and teachers
associations.
Initially, seven
elementary schools were identified as beneficiaries. The seven schools
namely, Cabancalan I Elementary School (300 pupils) , San Jose
Elementary School (250 pupils), Cabancalan II Elementary School (200
pupils), Budlaan Elementary School (200 pupils), Talamban Elementary
School (500 pupils), Banilad Elementary School (200 pupils), and San
Jose Day Care (200 pupils) signed up their participation during the
orientation held October 18.
Four feeding
activities will be conducted for each school. The two-hour activity will
be highlighted by a learning session for the pupils, a virtue talk for
parents and selected teachers, and a pictorial to cap each activity.
Each course would
include any of the donated products from Century such as Century Tuna,
555 Sardines, Argentina Corned Beef, and Wow Ulam to be prepared with
vegetables and other nutritious ingredients by partner schools. CITE
would also tap some donors to dole out bread, margarine, and disposable
utensils.
CITE would also do its
own feeding program for its students through active student clubs.
